Free for Your PCThursday, January 17 at 7:00 p.m. Owning a PC can be expensive. Between hardware upgrades, peripherals, Internet access, and software, it seems like the spending never ends. Many consumers aren't aware that, for software at least, there are many free options. This session, will introduce you to some of the best free software for consumers. Some of the software will be available on CD for attendees to take home. |

Maxim Weinstein has been using personal computers for twenty-five years and has worked in the technology industry for a decade. He is currently the manager of StopBadware.org, a project of the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard Law School. He also moonlights as a home PC consultant in and around Medford. You can attend either or both of these talks, and no registration is necessary. This series is funded by the Friends of the Medford Public Library. |

David L. Smith has been a member of the Civil War Round Table of Boston for more than twenty years, and is currently serving as its president. Smith has presented lectures at historical societies, genealogical societies, libraries, and community organization all over Massachusetts and in several southern states.
There will be an Historical Society meeting at 7:00 and the lecture will begin at 7:30.
